A little preparation goes a long way on the water. Here's the complete packing list so your group is ready to enjoy every minute aboard the Paradise Party Yacht.
Clothing and Layers
San Diego Bay has a reputation for mild weather, but the marine layer and afternoon wind can drop temperatures significantly once you're moving on open water. Even on warm summer days, bring a light jacket or hoodie for every member of your group. Evening charters especially benefit from an extra layer.
Soft-soled shoes are required on board. High heels are strictly prohibited — anyone wearing them will not be permitted to board until the footwear is removed. Sneakers, boat shoes, or sandals with a flat sole all work well.
Food and Beverages
Every charter is fully BYOB. Bring whatever food and beverages your group wants to enjoy. We provide ice, cups, plates, napkins, utensils, bottled water, and a blender. A full-size refrigerator, freezer, and onboard ice chest are available for your supplies.
For alcohol, guests must be 21 or older. Marijuana is not permitted on board — the vessel operates in federal waters where federal law applies. Fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited.
Swim Gear (For Anchor and Swim Charters)
If your charter is three hours or longer and includes the Glorietta Bay anchor stop, bring swimwear, towels, and water shoes if you prefer them. The large lily pad float is deployed at the anchor location. Guests swim directly from the vessel.
Children must be supervised by responsible adults at all times in the water. Life jackets are available on board for all ages.
Cash for Gratuity
The captain and crew are not included in the charter rate when it comes to gratuity. The industry standard is 20% of the total charter cost, with a minimum of $200 recommended regardless of charter length. Cash is the most practical way to handle this at the end of the charter.
What Not to Bring
High heels — not permitted, no exceptions. Fireworks of any kind — strictly prohibited. Marijuana or any federally controlled substance — the vessel operates in federal waters. Excessive decorations that require setup time outside your booked window — all decorating must happen within your paid charter time, as early boarding is not available.
