For groups flying in from out of town, this is a genuine game-changer. Land, grab your bags, and you're at the dock in under 10 minutes. No long Uber rides across the city, no worrying about traffic from the airport. It's one of the most convenient charter departure points in Southern California for traveling groups.

Parking in San Diego can be a headache. Harbor Island is the exception. There is ample surface parking right at the marina — no parking garages, no apps required, no circling the block.

LAZ Parking manages the lot adjacent to our departure point. Rates are reasonable, the lot is well-lit and safe, and you're never more than a short walk from the dock. For groups arriving in multiple cars, everyone can park in the same area without splitting up.

If you're coming from downtown or the airport, rideshare drop-off is also seamless — the area is easy to navigate and there's always a clear spot to be dropped off.

The Brigantine on Shelter Island is a short drive and one of the best happy hour spots in the city. For something more casual, the Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island has been a local landmark since 1955.
