The Double Yacht Experience: 24 Guests, Two Yachts, One Epic Day

August 4, 20265 min read

Most private yacht charters cap out at 15 guests. But what if your group is bigger — a milestone birthday, a large bachelorette, a corporate outing that needs room to breathe? Adventure Cruises San Diego now offers a limited two-yacht charter: two private 59-foot yachts, up to 24 guests, cruising the bay together and anchoring side by side for the ultimate on-the-water experience.

Limited availability — both yachts must be free on the same date. Peak season weekends book out weeks in advance. Reserve early to secure your date.

What Is the Double Yacht Experience?

The Double Yacht Experience is exactly what it sounds like: you book both of our 59-foot yachts for the same charter window. Your group of up to 24 guests splits across the two vessels, both yachts depart together from Harbor Island, cruise the bay in formation, and then anchor side by side in the calm waters of Glorietta Bay near Coronado. Once anchored, guests can move between the boats, spread out across both decks, and enjoy double the space — two sound systems, two lily pads, two sets of paddleboards, and one massive floating party.

The Bay Cruise: Two Yachts, One Route

The charter begins with a scenic cruise of San Diego Bay. Both yachts travel together past the USS Midway aircraft carrier, under the iconic Coronado Bridge, alongside the Star of India tall ship, and past the downtown skyline. Each yacht has its own professional captain and crew, its own 3000-watt Bluetooth sound system, and its own fully stocked setup — so both groups are having a great time simultaneously. It's the same world-class bay cruise, just doubled.

The Anchor: Side by Side in Glorietta Bay

After the cruise, both yachts drop anchor in Glorietta Bay — the calm, crystal-clear stretch of water just off Coronado. The yachts tie up side by side, creating a combined floating platform unlike anything else on the bay. Guests can swim between the boats, lounge on both decks, take turns on the lily pads and paddleboards, and mingle freely across the full group. The combined deck space is massive. It's the kind of setup you'd expect at a private resort — except you're floating in the middle of San Diego Bay.

Why This Is a Limited Offering

We only have two yachts, and both need to be available on the same date. That means Double Yacht charters are limited to specific windows and book up fast — especially on summer weekends, holiday weekends, and popular event dates. If you have a group of 16 to 24 guests and want this experience, the earlier you reach out, the better. We recommend booking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance for peak season dates.

Perfect for These Groups

The Double Yacht Experience is ideal for large bachelorette and bachelor parties that want the whole crew together, milestone birthdays (30th, 40th, 50th) with a big guest list, corporate team outings where 15 guests just isn't enough, family reunions that want a truly memorable day on the water, and any group that wants the most exclusive, over-the-top charter experience in San Diego.

Everything Included — On Both Yachts

Both yachts come fully equipped: professional captain and crew, 3000-watt Bluetooth sound system, floating lily pad, paddleboards, snorkel gear, life jackets, clean restroom, shade canopy, and cocktail accessories. The experience is fully BYOB — bring your own drinks, food, and snacks for both boats. No hidden fees, no bar minimums, no surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many guests can the Double Yacht Experience accommodate?

Up to 24 guests total — split across two private 59-foot yachts, each holding up to 12 guests comfortably.

2. Do both yachts stay together the whole time?

Yes. Both yachts depart together, cruise the bay on the same route, and anchor side by side in Glorietta Bay. Your group stays together throughout the entire charter.

3. Can guests move between the two yachts when anchored?

Absolutely. Once both yachts are anchored side by side, guests can freely move between the boats, swim between them, and enjoy the full combined deck space.

4. How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance for peak season dates. Double Yacht charters require both vessels to be available on the same day, so availability is more limited than a single-yacht charter.

5. Is this experience BYOB?

Yes — both yachts are fully BYOB. Bring your own drinks, food, and snacks for the whole group. We provide ice, cups, and cocktail accessories on both boats.
